Before the departure of the current administration of US President Joe Biden, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin intends to gather his aides in the cafeteria of the US Defense Department for a “farewell conversation” on Ukraine . This is reported by the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal .

“An unreliable source tells us that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin plans to gather aides for what he will call a ‘farewell chat’ (on Ukraine – ed.) in the Pentagon cafeteria,” the publication said.

Below is an “unreliable transcript” of the Pentagon chief’s expected words.

Among other things, Austin is expected to say that the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict is to the advantage of the United States . Although “an outcome in which Russia is completely defeated in its attempt to subjugate Ukraine is not our plan,” the transcript provided by the publication says.

On December 30, Biden announced that he would allocate nearly $2.5 billion to Ukraine. The new aid package is aimed at the country’s security. It will include $1.25 billion for the Ukrainian army and $1.22 billion under the United States Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
